5 Extremely Powerful End of Year Rituals for Families!

Family Exercises

  1. Go around the table and let each person recall what they are most grateful for in the year 2022.

  2. Let each person narrate what they are grateful for about each other. (Allow the children to celebrate each other and you as a parent)

  3. Now, you, as the parent, go around the table and pour out an avalanche of appreciation on each child or member of the family. This is not a casual or hurried moment. You can actually have notes on your phone of what you are celebrating each person for. Make it overwhelming and memorable, but keep it authentic!

  4. What is each member of the family looking forward to in the new year?

Again, this is a crucial moment. Let each person list their expectations for the year in the following areas (Academically, professionally, spiritually, health, financially (if applicable), and in relationships.

In between the couples, goal for the relationship with each child, and among siblings.

Personal

  1. Lavish a blizzard of appreciation on yourself.

Yes, yourself. Thank God for you. Congratulate yourself for all the things you did right in the year. Forgive yourself for areas you missed the mark. Recall your key accomplishments, victories, and moments of excellence. Remember the not-so-great moments and note what you could have done better. Don't be dragged down by the negative. This is a period of self-celebration. (No, it is not a sin to congratulate and celebrate yourself. Lol... God was the first to self-congratulate right after creation.) And let your children hear you praise yourself. It will be a great model for them.

God richly bless you!
