What is your win as a parent?
What is your win as a parent?
Giving birth doesn't make you a parent.
Providing housing, food, financial or even spiritual support doesn't make you a parent.
Parenting boils down to being able to influence a child through a rich and authentic connection.
The win for every parent is and should be connection. Without connection there is no parenting.
There are very educated children with no connection to their parents.
There are very spiritual kids who don't like their parents.
There are really well-taken care of children, but emotionally they are in turmoil.
Dear Parents... education, housing, nutrition, and spirituality are important but they can never substitute a rich, meaningful and emotional connection with the child.
Our heavenly Father prioritized connection above everything then. The death of Jesus Christ is a powerful reminder of how far God will go to reconcile or "reconnect" with His children! (Col 1:20)
What are you doing today to intentionally and intelligently nurture connection with your child?
Saying, "I love you," and "I care about you" isn't enough... We have to show it!
On Friday 9/17/21 we will discuss simple but powerful ways to connect with our children. A connection that will change the trajectory of your parenting and set the child up for greatness in the future. Of course, you are welcome to join us.
But in the meantime, starting this very moment, make connection with your child the win of your parenting. Don't congratulate yourself on any metric except the metric of connection; a solid one-to-one relationship with the child. A connection that is carefully nurtured and prioritized above everything!
In the end, let your child confess, "I know within my bones, that daddy and mommy love me, and I see it everyday!
See you on Friday night on Zoom!
Thank you, and God richly bless you!
