Go around the table and let each person recall what they are most grateful for in the year 2022. Let each person narrate what they are grateful for about each other. (Allow the children to celebrate each other and you as a parent)

My doctor told me I had to pay $7000 to get my tooth extracted due to an infection. He basically told me there was nothing else I could do. The problem was, I didn't have $7000, and I was distraught over it!

Then, a scripture jumped into my mind. James 5:14 "Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord."

God asked Jeremiah to write "all the words" He had spoken to Israel.

Writing doesn't only force us to remember the faithfulness of God over the past year, but we will leave behind a priceless legacy to our children and their children. One day, our descendants will read and be inspired about our level of gratitude.

Look through your diary, calendar, photos on your phone, and social media posts. Then recall the year in writing, ideally month after month. Also, document your feelings surrounding the specific situations and feelings. Good or bad, those feelings were a part of how you experienced the year.

Thanksgiving + Generosity =Miracles!

Someone gave their "only" meal to people they barely knew, and Jesus thanked God for it! Before they knew it, 5 loaves and 2 fish package was feeding close to 15,000 people!

Many are waiting for the miracle before they can be generous or grateful. But today, Jesus shows us that Thanksgiving and generosity precede miracles.

Last year by this time, I had no idea I would be on my way to Ghana to launch my debut book, Parenting Apprenticeship: Nurturing Teenagers Through a New Lens. I had no book, and I certainly couldn’t see myself traveling to Ghana any time soon. But God could! And He had made it possible. Not only had he provided the means, He has also given me a reason to go; ‘our book launch’! Glory Hallelujah!!

2019 was a hellish year. I was all on my own now, and finding the next job became impossible. In frustration, I decided to dabble in real estate as a real estate sales agent. Real estate in New York is a tough business even for the experienced agent, and so for the novice like me, you can imagine. It is a hit-or-miss endeavor and requires one to have a strong financial foundation to be able to survive the droughts, a foundation that I did not have.

Each time I was ready to give up, God would work a miracle that was enough to keep me limping along. I remember calling our administration office one day to ask about graduation, and I was told it would be easier to sit out and wait for the following year’s graduation. I told the guy thank you, but I will not choose the easy way. To graduate on time, I literally had to criss-cross the U.S. for clinical rotations. There was a little problem with this schedule, though. I didn’t have a reliable vehicle. My cousin called a family friend of hers who worked at a car rental company. Without knowing me, he jumped at the opportunity to help me. This stranger's kindness helped me finish medical school on time.
